Implementing Movement Parallax for Laparoscopy - Starting point

The starting point was a prototype designed and implemented by Tony Subroto. At the time, the idea was to implement a mechanism creating the requried movement inside the laparoscope. This prototype was the first proof of concept for such a mechnism.
Question was if the perceptual information from parallax shifts was sufficient for spatial manipulation tasks on small scale. For this reason, a special mechanism was built to test the principle. Experiments showed the advanatge of controlling the camera over no control, even at small scale.
